If cars are assembled in Rosslyn and shipped to parts if the EU, why does SA pay the same price and in some instances more with fewer options.
Do they take the SA market for Mugs.

They must do, cos they know there's absolutely nothing the consumer can do about it.
And as its made at a cheaper cost, does this mean that BMW make more profit out of S Africans than the consumers in tHe EU.

my thinking is maybe they up the SA produced car pricing so they stay inline with the imported cars?

then again given their parts pricing in general its probably just profit driven...

My real issue is the horrid audio system, seats and lack of toys which they put in my F30 :thumbdo: but still you pay premium prices.. The 1/3 has been a let down in terms of refinement vs price IMHO.. Will never buy one of these models new again need to step up to proper models I guess? :fencelook:

AFAIK Rosslyn is primarily a 3 series (non-M) plant... so the e46, e90, F30's are made here. True though, I think the SA market has shown its willingness to pay more for a lot less, as long as it's got that badge on it, so BMW prices accordingly. The tax duties etc levied on all cars contributes to our higher pricing

Other markets don't get the Motorplan which also adds to the price.

And with the 3 series being in the top 10 selling cars in SA... I doubt BMWSA feels the need to lower the price.

I hope that you guys don't buy Motorplan on new cars- there's a 3 yr BMW warranty that covers everything or do warranties not exist in new BMWs.
Does a warranty on new BMWs exist?

My FIL is here with me over the Summer and some if what I'm being told about the Govt sounds like a communist nation in parts.
Like the monthly rise and fall of fuel..... Hahaha, I've never heard of such a load of shite in my life.

I've been told by the fanatics that SA wasn't for sissies and I agree, so who is it for if the nation accepts such behaviour from the Govt.
It's suffocating , hearing stuff like they control petrol prices, have a hand in Telecoms

Motorplan here includes services for the period, so theoretically all you have to pay for is tyres and fuel.
