Where to buy 3M di-noc vinyl

I'm gonna order a bigger size piece than I need, to maximise the ratio of product/shipping cost.

Will then cut it up into E46/E90 "steering sized" pieces and put it up for sale for those interested

Unfortunately, gonna order the brushed black (graphite) only, not the brushed steel variant. (Exact trim model: 3M 1080 BR-212 - Brushed Black Metallic)

Depending on how this goes, will then order the 3M di-noc Carbon Fibre too. But that's probably gonna have to wait until next month.

:fishwack: just got a quote from a company in JHB :blab:

BMW Enteriro Trim: R1 9500.00 excl. vat

3M 1080 Wrapping Film in Brushed Steel. Includes application and labour fees.

:roflol: crazy!!!

Yep - I phoned one more sign place yesterday. The first response is why do I want 3M - it's gonna be expensive, over R1k for a 1/2 meter piece as the finish I want is a "special order" that's not available locally :nonono:

Looks like the eBay route is the only viable option.

:roflol: I replied to their quote. I told them it was crazy!

They responded oops typo, actual price for the interior is R1950.00 fitted.

Not too bad I think:thumbs:

@msm, how many meters are you going to be bringing in? I would be interested in purchasing around 2sq meters from you.

Won't be purchasing a lot. Probably just a smallish piece - I want to see how this stuff is first.

I've ordered the 60in piece. Going to try it on my steering first and possibly SMG dome.

I should have at least 2 "steering size" pieces left over. However, I first need to wait for the stuff to arrive and see what the final landed cost is, after customs.

Mo,

Have a look at this seller on fleabay, this is the same colour you been looking for, I want the brushed silver, let me know if you keen on splitting postage?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-1080-BR2...ilm-/261067611286?vxp=mtr&hash=item3cc8d79c96

It works out to a 30x75cm piece with the grain running the length of 75cm.. I doubt there are any interior pieces that are longer than 60odd cm..

I ordered already from the same seller, but the 12"x60" piece, which is about 30x150cm. Waiting for it to arrive though.

Im keen on splitting if the seller has brushed aluminium.

I am gong to bring a 30x75cm piece of brushed aluminum, we should be able to cover 2 steering a quite well with that...that's a 30x37.5cm square with the grain running the longer length of the sheet...

Let me know if you still keen..

thread update,

ordered my sheet from fleabay supplier and recieved it exactly 3 weeks later, quality of the fibre looks amazing and i even tested the anti wrinkle properties of the material and its great... keen to test it out i pulled the steering trims of last nite and begun the recover process, the bottom piece is an absolute breeze to do, the top piece needed the buttons to be removed and wrapped around the thin edges. thats where the scotchprint material is superior to the di-noc as its thinner and more flexible.. have some sharp razors and an extra pair of hands its not to bad...

pics attached..
