Yep, motorplan not satisfied with the Hankook RFT's which, as far as I am concerned, is vastly superior to most if not all of the BMW Approved RFT tyres! So had a pair of new Conti RFT's fitted this afternoon - now horrible Conti's all round!
And, it is amazing how ignorant a lot of people are! While the tyres are being fitted and balance (with me watching them like a Hawk to ensure not a repeat of last time when they scratched my wheels) along comes an E90 323i with 18" narrow/wides. After the gent finished speaking to the tyre salesman I went up to him and asked if he was happy with his RFT's - got a very blank expression in response. He had no idea what I was talking about. Then I thought I would approach this from another angle and asked what was "wrong" with the tyres since he was here. Said something about the pressures being wrong and BMW saying that he must have new tyres fitted...
Anyway, so then the salesman returns with a quote to fit four Yokohama RFT's - the look on this guy's face when he saw the price was, well, priceless! I asked him if his car was still under motorplan which it was, and told him that he should maybe find out from BMW if these Yokohama RFT's will be okay (I know the answer already, but anyway). Now if he went along and had these tyres fitted, he wouldn't have known any better - shouldn't this tyre fitment place be informing potential clients of this little fact??
