Where can I find service history of a vehicle

Hi guys

Been a long time since I post something haha, sold my car a while back, so didnt have anything to post haha.

Im looking to buy us a X5 3.0D, as with my E90, when we want to go camping or drive gravel road, I just didnt want to.

Unfortunately the price range I can afford, all of them has quite high mileage, (the one's with low mileage are out of my price range) and one of my "must" be's, is facelift 2004-2007 and Sportpack.

So I had a look at 2 of them recently, the one was very good buy, and was neat and original, but there was a 4x4 light burning on the dash, and the key's remote wasnt working, the other one I wasnt satisfied with the condition at all, bad.

Theres another 2 I want to go and have a look this weekend, but now the people at BMW are getting irritated with me calling or e mailing once a week to get a car's history and accident comment report.

What other way is there to get the history and accident comment report, if I have the vin?

the insurance company where the car is insured will be able to have a record maybe. Or if itthe owner uses a garage card to fill fuel and do repairs you will be able to get details

At what price range are you looking, e53 or e70 and km's. Try different dealers for the info, I never had problems. Go to the salesmen and chat to them, they will help.
I am maybe in the market for selling

Looks like I was succesfull at SMG Cape Town for the history, I am just waiting for the mail on monday.

Im quite in a low price bracket, R120k -R140k

Had a look at 3 yesterday, 2 of them a defininate no no, the other one, very clean original car, 2005 built, but 2006 registerede, Sterlinggrey 3.0d Sportpack, I can get for R125k, BUT 203 000km.
3 things on the car that bother me a little, the km reading, half of the pixels are dead, a little parking bash on the right rear part of the bumper, and when pushing hard on the brakes, a scratching noise left front, the owner tell me he recently replaced disc pads, and after that it made that noise.

The interior has minimal wear and tear, much better than the others Ive viewed with less km's.

Tyres are very good, just one thing, it dont have narrow and wides, looks like all 4 are narrows, with 255 tyres all round

Help me decide here guys, I want the car, but Im just afraid who is going to buy it from me in a years time with that mileage haha
