Wheels at the Vaal Expo (Vanderbijlpark)
VANDERBIJLPARK. - This year’s Wheels at the Vaal Vintage and Steam Festival will be held on August 31 and September 1, once again at the North-West University campus in Vanderbijlpark. The entrance charge is R50 per adult. All school-going children have free access.
Staunch old vendors, merchants and service suppliers will be back putting on sale quality goods - from the antique and rare to the quaint and quirky. Browsers can expect a whale of a time. The auto jumble is also always a pleasure to visit. Throughout the day visitors will be treated to festive music and many prizes are to be won!
Food stands will provide a large variety of tasty food and soft drinks. The Rotarians will be running the beer tent and as always provide friendly service.
Working steam engines will once again be demonstrated. A steam traction engine will be driving around whilst portable steam engines will be put to work as it was done in a bygone era.
Vaal Old Wheels, the home-based club, will be utilising the large lapa to display the fanciest cars and motorcycles in the club.
At the entrance to the lapa, tickets will be sold for the car being raffled this year, a 1992 VW City Golf in good condition.
