Wheels and tires

Howzit, I'm looking to fit 18s on my e60 530d auto. Car has stock 225/45/17s I believe. I found a set of 18s bmw oem wheels 8.5j I think they were produced for the e70 x5. I see a lot of the e90s have narrow and wides, I'm guessing on the 8.5j I have to go same size all the way round?? The car currently has same size front and back. What size would I fit 255/40/18? I have looked at 19s but I'm sure that's gonna chow fuel consumption on the car but I can be incorrect would like the hear opinions weather I should go narrow and wide 18s or 19s

Going with a nice set of similarly weighted 19s will not increase your consumption. I put the OEM 19s from the M6 after having the heavier 650i 19s and the consumption was better.

Keep in mind the wheels from the. X5 are going to be heavier even in 18s
