I don't get how people can be so gullible... To the logical brain it would not make sense. Why would whatsapp CEO decide not to bill you R25 if you send it to 10 people

Besides. I use an iPhone. It's called jailbreaking with free apps.

WhatsApp is actually a paid for service. Go to settings -> account. You will see that you have a trail account, and it will expire at some point, depending on when you started using it. AFAIK, pricing differs for some devices, but android will be $0.99 per year. A very smart model - get everyone to use your app, and then when they are all locked in, start billing them. But you all should know this, since I'm sure you all read the terms and conditions that you agreed to when you installed the app, right?

But the message is a complete scam for gullible idiots. If whatsapp wanted to send you a message, they would do so without needing to bribe your friends to get it to you.

This is further evidence that common sense is in fact a super power.

If the server was overloaded, why would they tell people to send around this message...?
It's like saying "the ship is sinking! Quickly, tell everyone you know to get on!"
Also, the whatsapp people have our numbers, why would they need us to forward the message to the others...?

I worry about humanity, I really do.

Luckily, I only got it from 2 contacts, so the company I keep is on point.
:joy:
Sad part is, its the 2 chicks I'm trying to bone...

Dont know about Androids but Apple will shut Whatsapp down if they were to try their tricks.
WhatsApp uses a handset's Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection to send messages so how they could charge you for this only Steve Jobs knows

I think we should start a new one saying "the CEO has decided that forwarding to 18 contacts is not enough... You have to send it to 300 people in 15 minutes or your phone will be remotely formatted, you will loose all your contacts and it will be repossessed"

That should keep these silly people busy for a while... :fencelook:
