What to do?

Hi guys, got a 2006 e90 320d earlier 2012 with around 70k on the clock, and was told the motorplan has been extended till July 2013 by the salesman. Then recently went to get my shocks checked out around november and the car was around 90k, and found out my motorplan is only till end of Feb 2013. I was ok with it and thought I would take one roadtrip before the motorplan expired in Dec and as expected the car came back needing attention now at +100k. When I called BMW they tell me that only the Date was extended not the millage so its out of Motorplan.

Is there something I can do or is this a lost cause?

Shouldn't all plans be 5years or 100000km which ever comes first?:fencelook:

Yep but extended, it can go up to 150k or however many extra years, which ever comes first. Just that this is the first time I hear of only extending the years only.

You can extend MP by time only. Its much cheaper than extending by kms.

Wish I knew that before my road trip. :bangdesk:

Thanks for the info.

Well, what you will have to do is keep a very close eye on the car cause everyone knows that once a BMW is over 100k km and not under motorplan it will start falling to pieces.

errrrm, I have a '03 E46 330d with 406 000kms and my car is very much still in one piece.

Its only if you dont look after your car and dont maintain it correctly that, that will happen.

BMW motorplan is 100k km's and 5 years on ALL their cars.
Extendable to 7 years and 200k km's.

OBVIOUSLY on whatever comes first...

So if oyu only did 60k kms, and the car is 5 years old, you can extend by another year, and another, up to 7 years.

If the kms are say at 97k km's, but only 3 years old, then you can extend the km's to 110k, or 150k, or 200k km's.

When extending the KM's, its MORE expensive than extending the year.

For 1 more year its anything from R2,500, to R5,000.
For extra km's, its about R1 per km, so for 15k km's extra, you looking at about R15,000...

Okay, did you buy the car from a BMW Dealership and was it an approved Used Purchase?

Firstly, take a deep breath... If you look after her she will not just fall apart... As far as extending the MP goes, for the amount of money you spend for the kind of service you get out of it, you just do not get your monies worth, now I understand if something major goes BMW would replace it, but personal experience, I'm on 136000kms and have it serviced by an awesome Mechy and pay way less than what the bloody extended MP would have costed! And it is certainly not falling apart :=):
