Last 7 digits of the VIN and the reg.
VIN for BMW and Reg for Cois.

Isn't there also a tamper dot that appears next to the odometer reading if the mileage has been tampered with? Obviously would depend on the model as well.

The vin was enough to get a general idea.

Just to give you guys a heads up if anyone is interested in this:

I went to go have a look at the car on friday. The general weathering inside was quite bad. The gap between the bonnet and bumper seemed a little big to me. There are numerous little dents on the roof which the dealer says they will fix......but, upon close inspection, the paint job on the roof did not look smooth. There is no way that the car came out the factory like that, but the dealership says the car has full service history.
So I say goodbye and head over to BMW to view another 1 series....

From the vin pulled off this 130i.....records show the last service was 2009 with roughly 50k mileage, and no comments.

So....somewhere between 2009 and now, this car clocked an extra 50k, and i assume it was in some sort of accident but not taken to BMW.

bad juju....bad.
