Its a combination for brilliant stuff put together, for me nothing stands out in particular.

In an M car its all about the way it drives and makes you feel, not worrying about telling people about how fast your gearbox changes gears, your tricked out suspension, 0-100 time, ........

But that's the thing about bmws in general not just ///m cars: sheer driving pleasure

But an ///M is just that much better than the normal series.:fencelook:

Yes, but not at different things, at those same things just better:idea::fencelook:

Petri, have you driven an e90 M3 or an e46 M3 or any ///M car for that matter?

Very true, but my 330 may not be in the same league as the M, but let me tell you some thing, its defiantly is sheer driving pleasure as well. It gets hammed day in, day out whilst the M sits in the garage and still doesn't put a foot wrong.

Sure once I get into the M in forget about the 330, but other than that, the 330 still gives me a thrill.

Guys, 330s, 335s,135s and 550s are fantastic cars but the fact is that if they've not been blessed by M division then they are great cars but will never be an ///M car.it will never be a wannabe car, or a , almost as fast as car- it's unique drivetrain and overall dynamics makes it special . ///M Power, 40 years in the making.

Just the letter only sends shivers down my spine. My love for Beemers all began at a early age starting of with the 325is but when the first ///M was launched here in South Africa , I fell in love immediately. My cousin was one of the very first owners to get this silver E36M (Aron). The day he picked it up I was present with him. The drive was just to exciting and that feel in the car was superior to the rest at the time , sadly about three weeks later he lost his life on a trip to CT. I will never forget the witness that explained the accident.

Quoting witness : We were busy admiring this stunning silver car pass us quiet quickly and we saw the car take of like a aeroplane and crash on the top part of the bridge.

Even though this was a sad moment in my life , it was also a moment in my life where I appreciated what a ///M is capable of and why it needs to be respected.

For me personally ///M is a image burned into my head. The exhilarating drive and feel in any M car is just second to none. Very biased statement on my behalf but this is how I feel and have felt since a very young age.

Sorry for your loss and your feelings are shared by millions
This car needs respect and unless you're a drift champion will show you whose boss

The whole package is true but there are a couple things that drive it home for me:

- That you cruising along and just for sh1t5 decide to floor it and the car responds immediately

- That epic wailing banshee noise as the revs climb

- That the harder you drive the car the more rewarding it is, it just seems to say "why you sitting at 4k rpm... kmaan", then you get to 5k and it seems to say "Getting warmer, keep at it", then 6k "Starting to hit my stride", then 7k "Finally, the (G)sweet spot"

The funny thing is I was never a BMW fan growing up, a test drive changed that though
