Almost all unleaded is now marketed as "cleaner unleaded" How's that for an admision they were selling us dirty shit a few years ago...........

Problem is that they are still selling us sh!t quality fuel, compared to the rest of the world.

Who conducts quality tests on South African fuel?

I would be really interested to see how it compares worldwide.

+1

If we had decent fuel, then maybe we can see our BMW diesels hit the million KM mark. Here's a German E39 530d on 940K KM :dropjaw: with regular maintenance only:

High mileage 530d

NB: If you've got Chrome as your browser, just do a translation of the page, as it's in German.

Also, the E39 diesels are quite popular as taxi's in Europe and these guys do crazy mileages too.

just some feed back,got a 12,3l/km(on board computor)last night.
still using v power shell(3rd tank now)so it seems ill be sticking to shell.

wonder if the fuel consumption would get better on a longer trip?say durban or cape town?
is there anybody else getting this consumption?

I am guessing you mean /100km, else you might be driving an american car :)

The fuel consumption should be a lot better on open road driving. On a trip to durban a while back I got 6.8l/100km (from a 3.0l petrol engine  )

Phew glad we got that sorted :)

(I was thinking, at 12.3l/km I would only be able to drive about 5km on a full tank of petrol :) )
