What is this plug for?

Good day Fanatics

This weekend I serviced my E90 320D LCI, The motor is the 130kw N47 motor. I did a Oil and brake service.

When fitting back the engine cover I noticed this plug hanging loose.

* how do I rotate the Image, on my computer it displays correctly when viewing it on my desktop

Does anyone know where it should be plugged in. I didn't plug it out so have no idea where it must go.

Sorry should have clarified that its the Yellow one in your picture as it is not plugged in and can be seen hanging loose, The red one is plugged in on top.

Ahh now that I look closely at the red one I see it's not empty. Thought the yellow plugged into there.

No error lights?

No error lights or notifications from the I-drive for faults.
I don't have an OBD scanner so can't know if there is any other codes.

I have a suspicion that the car doesn't need it, but for intresset sake would like to know what uses it. I couldn't find the plug on REALOEM.

And there's no place for it on/near the air filter housing or any surrounding components? I'm assuming this is there where the air filter is...

It is on the air filter side yes but is way to short to even get close to anything for the air filter. I tried to see where it would be able to reach and look for a plug but couldn't see anyplace where it belongs.

I thought it might be the LCI harness used for the 135kw motor but as the car came with the 130kw motor maybe the motor is missing something which the newer engine has.

Here is another photo I took.

Perhaps it needs to move more back, like behind that other plug I marked earlier? Under that cover?
