Hi Guys

What fuel do you guys use and do you stick to a particular fuel ; fuel brand etc....

I use 95 Octane but will generally fill at any filling station - however i know some people will only fill BP / Shell etc

does it make a difference?

LRP only. Usually total coz it's close to me. If not then BP. But I get crap mileage from shell

think i need to pay more attention to the mileage i get.... and see if there is a difference to my car. I usually fill when its empty and at the one with the shortest queue and closest to where i am

If you have a look at my fuelly I always note where I fill in the notes tag. So far I seem to get my best kms on a tank from shell and engen

BP (95 octane) because of the deal I get with Discovery insurance. You get some of your fuel spend back (terms and conditions apply yada yada) but you have to fill up at BP or Shell Ultra City.

I use engen primax 95.

All my other cars I did tests and the least timing pull with this fuel
Fnb also gives cash back end of the month on fuel used:=):

Shell 95 or Engen 95 (plus OB or Eth depending on which car). If I'm mixing 50/50 eth, I don't really mind which brand goes in, but on 95 map and my S2000 its normally Shell. I don't think there is a real difference between most of the major brands. Their additives all do pretty much the same thing. A lot of placebo effect going on (I suffer from it too LOL)

Interestingly, I have a knock light on my STI that flashes when it hits a certain threshold. Whilst it is nearly impossible to get detonation on Ethanol, when I'm on my 95 map, the only fuel that sets it off is Total which leads me to believe it is inferior to the others. Have noticed this a couple of times when forced to fill at a Total

In my opinion, fuel is fuel no matter what brand. Most of our fuel coming Sapref in Highland View IIRC. Same like toothpaste and soap.

I agree. Like I say I use total because it's close by...

And I've tried the Shell Nitro story without results, but also the closest shell garage is quiet a distance from my house. Ambient temperatures, driving conditions, driving habits and right foot 'giere'(urges) generally determine my fuel consumption
