What did you do on your car today?

Took of the rear bumper to refit the pdc sensor. Idiots at carwash pushed it into the bumper. It's surprisingly easy to remove. Took about 15m to take it off.

Replaced front door striker (what a mission) because of backing plate, re-did kidney grills (plastidip) AND replaced bonnet and boot badges

it gives a hint of gold sparkle.

I might go with a gloss over it but for now the matte works for me

Tried my hand at software upgrade using WinKFP...and succeeded. Decided to try on a non-essential control unit; Voice Control. Took 45 minutes to update but it worked :) Now the system responds faster and it pics up commands better than before.

Replaced the O-rings on the Vanos Solenoids and Vacuum pump. Also cleaned out the Vacuum pump and created a new seal with gasket sealer since the inside O-Ring had failed and BMW don't sell those. The pump was pissing oil because of this. Cleared all the adoptions and wow...the car is unbelievable. The low-range power is 10x what it was before. The engine surging is also gone and so is the "ticking" :). Cost me R390 in parts from BMW and 3 hours of my time. DIY difficulty: 6/10 only because it was a PITA getting the vacuum pump back in.

And...my driver side angel eye bulb went out. Decided to keep them stock because the bulb fits directly into the housing and then has a watertight dome which closes over it. I have not seen many LED bulbs that have this and certainly dont want moisture ingress into the headlight. Took me 1 hour start to finish. DIY difficulty 5/10.

Updated my navigation computer firmware to V32. Maps load faster, look better and also now show street names when in perspective view :) DIY difficulty: 0/10. Insert the disk and follow the prompts :)
