What advantages of downpipes?

What advantage of downpipes? if you got flash, dp's and standard exhaust 335i. What do dp's do? Will the stealers know its there? power or just breathing better? best dp's at the best price where to get it?

The 3 inch downpipes give the car a completely different feel, the basically remove the cats from the turbo to the exhaust. The boost comes in quicker and the car holds boost to slightly higher rpm. The average gains are between 6-10wkw. I feel some cars have higher gains because with higher mileage the cats could be slightly blocked creating resistance.
The stealer will know they are there as they are visibly detectable, sometimes if the tuning isn't right they will also leave fault codes on the ECU.
Not sure about local pipes but I went the expensive root getting a set from AR Design.

It makes a huge difference, I'd say after sw, best money you can spend!
Like george said, the car is more responsive but its only when you drive your car you'll know what that feels like, absoulutaly amazing!!
Ar is very good, but local ones are just fine, it all depends on where you live!
