Well done there bud. 12.7 on the 1st run with a bogged launch. I reckon your car can run 12.3-12.4. Wait till you get to a dyno bud, you gonna' get a shock!

Thanks guys ,I only had one run and then the rain started and racing was stoped.
Im happy that i did a 12.7 and im sure I will be able to drop my times.
A big thank you to Xcede (Sherwin and Shaan) for helping me get the car into the 12,s
Sherwin it was great meeting you for the first time and you are a funny guy full of jokes,
just make sure you dont take your car into the bush:)
Il see you soon when i bring the car up to jhb to get some times.

Well done to Mo aswell in the cpi 135 12.9 is a top time for just sw.

Well done again Avi. Any idea on our exits. Just wondering if our different shift tech played all roll in higher traps.

And your quite right those times were most def goin to be improved if the rain didn't come.

Nice going man. What was your exit?

Well done to Mo as well.
With a bit of practice at the track you will get great times. Its quite lonely at the low 12's at the moment.:)

Don't worry George by the next Margate event we'll try and give you some company in the low 12's. But remember we've got manuals so its abit tricky

With all honesty Avi could have done mid 12s given the opportunity

The manual with Mickey Thompsons are actually at a slight advantage in my opinion as you can rev them higher of the line seeing slightly more boost. I am not sure if its overkill at the coast though as I have never driven my car down there. With the auto you stuck with a 2100rpm launch.
We all got a long way to catch the yank 11 second runs.

I do agree with you george but there is a reason why most of the fastest n54's are autos. Us manual guys only have that advantage but more drawbacks with cdv issues slower shifts not being able to wot etc etc. So that advantage of the line is gone. The autos are much faster in my opinion

George, I sold my car due to the IMMENSE frustration of not being able to put it down. Making great power on the dyno but running low 13's. A manual is not built for drag racing & there's a reason the auto's rule the dragtimes top 10.

The biggest factor is the boost loss when snapshifting. You really have to consciously shift like a granny to avoid the ridiculous pause that happens. You can lose 0.2-0.3 seconds with the shifting.

The auto has shorter gears as well, which helps in the power range we are in. Maybe the higher horsepower cars like yours will benefit from longer gears, the jury is out on that. But the auto definitely has better gearing for 1/4 mile sprints.

But the single biggest factor is the auto's ability to leave the line with boost. That is the key too drag racing. Leaving the line with momentum. You can rev a manual to 10 000rpm, it will still be in vacuum. Can never get boost off the line with a manual.

Fastest N54 no gas in the states is a 11.5 which has been run with a manual and a auto but that's in the States.
The longer gears on my car is hampering my 60ft by .2seconds and the in gear G's have stayed the same so I am going back to a 3.46. Will test with the bigger turbo wheels once they arrive and decide on the plan of action for next year.

The CDV is a major problem though and I can imagine the frustration, have you tried the modified ones.

Yeah, that's the only manual in the top 10 & it belongs to a tuning house, not a customer.

Ok so you saying shorter gears are better? Well auto has much shorter gearing than a manual. So I guess you saying an auto X35 is better suited for drag racing than a manual?

Yeah tried all that & found out the hard way it has nothing to do with the clutch.
