Hi Guys

I drive a Ford Territory because I have to think of my family. However, I have always been crazy about the e36 m3 coupe. I remember going into Auto Atlantic in Cape Town to look at them!! Anyway, I would like to buy 1 as a weekend 'toy' and I have been looking for close on a year now but found nothing that looks ok. I would appreciate advice on what to look out for when buying an e36 me (Coupe)

Welcome

Only thing I know of that many have said to check, is to make sure the car has a proper service history. The reason being is that the Vanos systems can sometimes act up a little. A car with a good service history would have less chance of this.

I don't know of anything else specific, but normal things to look at is look under the car for any signs of oil (Check diff, gearbox, and engine). Then when you drive, make sure the gear shift is smooth, check if the clutch shudders, and listen to the idle while cold and after the drive. Also check all the electronics. And try to get one that is as stock as possible
