It doesnt make money, and wasnt started to make money, in fact I use my own money right now to pay hosting fees etc and put in many hours of development time;) Its not about that, its about being a fanatic

The moderators are there to assist with unruly members, help with questions, move posts that are posted in the wrong sections, assist new members with "orientation" ie: pic posting etc and whatever else may be required of them. There is currently no remuneration for this, and they all do it out of their own will.

There are get togethers etc that get organised, there has never been one in durbs though. I think the member count has grown enough to organise one though.

I drive up to jhb sometimes, its not something i do very often. Im going up there on the 23rd i believe. Why?

Could do a breakfast run somewhere up the coast, or down, im not too worried. I just dont enjoy speed traps.

Well This is Why i am asking I drive up often Last year went twice a month. lose your front numberplate LOL waight reduction.
besides a cop can only fine you once for a fault on your car and its only R500.00 beats payn a fine like doing 140km at montrose IE: 120 zone 80 zone 60 zone
than when you reach van reenen pass put foot cops cant catch around a bend HAHA and the best plan is find a big ass car IE merc e class or bmw 5 you get the pic jump behind him but stay more left IE in the middle of the rode so if the radar catches from the right the big ass car hides you,,,, have never had a speeding fine going to jhb only in town...

pop me a email so can save you

Surely they will fine you for no number plate as well as the speed that you were going?

Yeah, when i was last on my way up to jhb i trailed an e55 amg, was a very short trip, much better than staying at 130km/h.

Hi & welcome!!

the new M3 has a 65l tank and only gets 403km to the tank @120km/h auto cruse on , thus meaning if i dice a m3 from jhb to durban and i drive my 520i i would win cos he will have to fill up twice.

I know a friend from the University that drives a white e34 520i that we called the tank. Keep in mind that the m3 only have a 65L tank where your car has a massive 90L tank (very painful to fill he moaned a lot ha ha).
Well he got very very crap fuel consumption. Average of 8km/L, town 4.9km/L best he got over a period of 2 years was only 11km/L.
We once drove to a friend’s b-day and at a distance of 720km he made full using around 83L where my 318is only used 51L :mmm:.

Another thing on the 12Nov his car overheated :mmm: ,don’t know why his car was so heavy on fuel , but ja have a lot of stories of us racing to.

But with the crap fuel consumption he loves his car a lot always polishing and replacing parts to give it a new good look

That's the point where love for the car overrides the monetary value and that's called passion!

well bad fuel can be from many things plugs oil tire pressure and 18" wheels....
what ever the reson your buddy had bad luck i drive a 520i and in town i get 10-11 km/L and on the freeway 13-14 km/L
My brother has a 316i and not even he gets your fuel consumption so you are very lucky.
then you cant compair a 4 cylender car to a 6 cylender car just dose not work IE exstra two cylenders fireing all the time.over heating is commin on a 5 series due to the radiator has to be replaced at +/- 150000.00km but againg overheating can be from a number of problems... write back look forward to chat

Good Morning ALL

True can’t compare our cars. My friends also say I am really lucky with my fuel consumption. Get around 14km/L with aircon on.

On one occasion I drove from potch to rustenburg, keeping in mind I was a student there and cash was a scarce resource I took a chance driving home on a bad month with little petrol money knowing I had to drive extremely careful to make it home, driving @ 100km/h and no need to overtake ext. ext. I got 18.4km/L.

My friends’ car looks exactly the same as yours, he told me his car is repaired so I will find out some time if the consumption is sorted with all the refurbishing.

Your cars fuel consumption is awesome meaning your car is still in good shape.
