Weird/Freaky Problem

Hi guys,

For the last two evenings I noticed that there is a very weird noise coming from my 330d, The car will be locked and standing for hours in the garage and all of a sudden there is some mechanical noise like that from an air conditioner that comes on. Now im not on any meds, or have no history of any involvement with transformers but this is freaky as hell.

What can it be? it sounds like its coming from the firewall. As soon as I open the car with the FOB, it goes away...

I would say your remote is too close to the car and it is not going into sleep mode properly any signs your battery is being discharged. Try keeping the forbe further away from the car then usual and see.

It could be the air vent selector going into it 'off' position.

i have experienced this with my e90, my mums w203 and my wifes old yaris.

it basically just moves to close off the air passage into the cabin.

Hope that helps.

Have you checked cylinder 5 for pigeons ?

Do you have comfort access and or carry the key with you for these "spooky" visits to the garage.

I've noticed this noise as well while working on my car. You can emulate it by unplugging the sensor on the passenger side firewall

Haha. Thanks guys. You guys gonna hear on the news one of these days. "Transformer found in Lenz" will monitor it and see if it happens again... but thanks for all the help as always
