Just curious...

I heard something about an insurance company not paying out for a hail damage claim as they sent out SMS's to notify their clients so that they could avoid the storm, and said client then didn't take measures to protect their car.

Tell me this cannot hold up in court? How do you know you're gonna hit a storm if you leave PTA en route to JHB for example?

Sounds like bs....really doubt there is anyway that is true.

OK

So something small has developed

Looking at the contours, looks like some rain, probably no hail though

very rapidly moving west to east
JHB southern areas along the East Rand, probably gonna pass just south of O R Tambo

We have some light rain in jhb south.

They simply cannot enforce that, if the hail hits it hits.

What I found more worrying though, is I got online comparative insurance quotes from hippo the other day, and they include hail coverage only if a car is financed.

That scared the crap out of me, as the wife's car is not financed.

Luckily, hippo was crazy with their prices, and Santam was still tops, and I know from oodles of insurance that santam would not screw you like that..

and another line of weather

A thundercell over southern JHB (north of Soweto) moving towards Gillolys and onwards towards Benoni, has red contours (inicating intensity) and thus possibility of hail

Dont think we even got a drop of rain in centurion....

Just spent a kaak load of cash on planting grass in the yard. Got a notice not to water the garden on Monday due to water shortage. So its starting to dry up slowly...

Need rain so bad

I did the same a few years back, spent loads of cash trying to sort out the yard, but eventually the crappy soil, ridiculous amounts of water needed to keep everything growing just wasnt going to work. I doubled my water consumption for 6 months.... now i let nature take its course....
