Bought those Ellie's surge protectors that offer protection from non direct hits but one specifically for telephone cables. Got my new modem on its way to me tomorrow (instead of a like for like swap I just got the best model now lol)

Well that's why I bought it ... Filling out the warranty forms they have enclosed and will put the modem on it and let's see if they fulfill if I do have the issue again of a lightning non direct strike

one was not payout by the insurance company because it was not reported within 72 hours
