dissipating thunderstorm Potch area, could drift to JHB much much later, seems to be moving slowly

my thumbsuck says rain and possibly only light rain, in 2 to 3 hours time (10PM or so)

Having driven across a large part of the country today. I drove in continual rain from Bloemfontein to Howick. Fantastic as it means many areas affected by drought are finally getting some rain!

Was awoken at 2am to the glorious sound of a massive thunderstorm. Fell asleep again.

05h20 lightning must have struck right outside the house. Was the hardest I've ever heard. Startled me right out of bed and all the cars alarms were going off.

large but dissipating cell north of Potch stretching to Rustenburg, but in dissipating phase probably rain only, smaller little cells with a low Dbz gradient are north west of Lanseria moving to Hartebeespoort, but such low colour gradient, we would be lucky for anything greater than a drizzle

at this stage nothing to worry about, except dirty wet cars

Uncertain of what's to come but there's a large cell developing far west of Pretoria. If it carries on it should hit JHB/PTA within the next hour or two.

Plenty cloud cover to the west as well. Might be another stormy night.
