water pump leak E46 318i

Hi Guys

I have a leak from just under the waterpump. it is losing alot of coolant. Do you think the water pump is gone or a seal could be the cause. i have the n42 engine and the water pump is not the normal type.

If it's from under your waterpump then chances is that the pump is shot....replace it rather...also does your car overheat etc etc?
No use in replacing just the seal as the e46 is famous for their cooling system failure....if you do decide to change the pump then i strongly suggest doing the whole cooling system including the thermostat etc etc:thumbs:

the car does not overheat but just loses coolant.

Hmmmm.....have it checked out but if it keeps losing coolant then it wont be long before it starts overheating....how is the coolant level in your bottle? Do u have to top up everyday or once a week etc etc.....but like i said...have it checked out cause they tend to overheat when you last expect them to:argh:
