Wastegate Rattle

mine has the wastegate noise ...

its subtle but really quite annoying on a new car as it sounds like somma loose , basically only comes on when your foots off the gas ... almost like a motor winding down

local mechanic says to just leave it and live with it

any advice

(note Im in Malawi so no Motorplan unless I send my car to RSA where i bought it)

My car does exactly the same. It only started doing this after the second software tune. Someone on the forum said it is the wastegates and it happens when you play with the software. It is very annoying and I will also like to know if I can fix it somehow. The car now has 110 000km on the clock en the turbos were replaced on 96000km.
If there is a way to fix it please let me know. 2007 335i.

I assume you have an N54.

Usually in the case of a wastegate rattle BMW replaces both turbos.

Since you are in Malawi its going to be a bit of a drive for you to get the car to BMW.

Fit a JB4. It will help control/mask the rattle. I've had the rattle for 8000km. Waiting for a local single turbo option.

I assume you have an N54.

Since you are in Malawi its going to be a bit of a drive for you to get the car to BMW.

BMW 320i F30 with Ac Schnitzer performance upgrade done by JSN motors.

cars always had the sound , local tech here says best to leave it as its a newish car and he wouldnt wanna fiddle with it ...
