s///mon i would 1st see what ratio you want you dont want to replace it later because you got the wrong ratio... also gizmo can make you up an lsd and send it to you then you know its in good shape before you put it in... im not sure what he charges for this but i dont think its much...

Still looking for 3.23 or 3.15 ratio LSD. Anyone? I have Cash in hand. Preferably in the CPT area.

no seeing as its a track car you want the shortest possible... i think the shortest you can go is 4.11...

a short ratio will give you better acceleration and will also make it easier to stay on the right revs because the gears will be closer together...

i would go for an open short ratio with semis that will give a better setup than a 3.23 lsd diff

lol sorry dont have one :)

speak to Gizmo he knows alot about e36 diffs and can probubly get what you want...

otherwize
Bac (dont have his number)
and
EMI (0824467373)

both seem to be bmw breakers so they should be able to sort you out...

here is a list of ratios (they are US so there are cars missing so best to double check on realoem)

Ive just chatted to Anton from APS who has done plenty of these diff fittings/mods for both turbo and NA race BM's.

He's told me straight up that a 4.11 is going to be way too short. He's advised a 3.5 for track purposes is going to be perfect for the 328i - Im gona go test drive a e36 328i with the exact diff (hopefully this week) to see what it feels like.

did he say why a 4.11 was too short? i would not think you could reach the top of 5th with even that ratio on the track

With the standard ratio of the 328i I get well into 4th gear down the back straight. I stand corrected but I hit about 170/180kph before I start braking.

He says I'm gona go nowhere with such short ratios. Remember - I do like to get it a bit sideways at times and the last thing I want is to run out of revs. Suppose I will have a better feel once Ive taken this other e36 for a test. Will give a full feedback post after.

All these ratios and number are very confusings an' STUPH... A tleast Im learning something. Thanx BMWfanatics :)

you probably right the extra shift will mess up you time down the strait... maybe look at what ratio will give you 200kph in 4th seems that will be best for this track... there is a gear ratio calculator on the link i posted it makes it really easy :)
