Wanted:E46 TI Window button

Hey guys

My window button broke the other day, i'm still able to work the window up and down so the mechanism still works fine. Is there a place in jhb where I can buy just the plastic (cover) button.

You have to buy the whole switch , that's part of the switch , You could buy a switch and remove the plastic button from that and fit it onto your switch body , but that's a little pointless.

At the scrap yards this isn't an expensive part , I think at most it should cost you between R50 and R100 a switch for the single switch at most , If this is the front center console switch then it may be a little more . I had to replace mine on the left rear door and it cost me R75 .

You cant buy the piece separately , as far as I know .

Ya, i've tried a few scrapyards but no luck. You see the Compact models came with single buttons (one on each side of the gear shift). So its very hard to find the mechanism second hand, it has to be from another Compact.

Bmw wants R1200 just for the switch. Was tempted to get it but im gna wait abit and see it anything turns up at the scrapyards. R1200 is robbery!
