As most of you with e46 M3's will know Walt had his big end bearing kiss the crank repeatedly untill said crank was bruised and abused.

So he went on the hunt for a new crank.....................

Special delivery by Philip and Walt.

Stay tuned...........................

For crying out loud... the fact that neither of you photo-happy buggers got a shot of my herculean feat in lifting an S54 off a trailer, makes me sad.

Instead, as if to add insult to injury, you manage to capture ALL of my chins while driving the mommy-mobile... and didn't even bother to work a bit of photoshop magic.

Stick to building engines uncle Pete... :(

Well if Peter won't mind. Some cosmetic work that needed doing. Whom ever replaced the battery way back when broke the retaining bolt/clamp and the resulting battery slapping around made for a nasty racket, not to mention mess as I presume it got a crack in. Or perhaps it was the battery before that that was cracked hence the sheered retaining bolt.

Started off trying to get the isolator off as the one torx screw rusted so bad the t40 stripped it

Got it off and behold the horror

Wirebrush, sandpaper and a vacuum cleaner it was ready to be rust treated.

Given the weather it was much fun sitting with a haor dryer blowing hot air on the rust treatment to get it dry after a hour. After that I tackled the battery isolator (8k from bmw I will have you know).

When the car is with the good doctor we can speak about possible solutions to get a new clamp setup going.

wow that looks nice.

I see Crash is back on the scene

Sorry gents... My film took precedence and I was on location shooting for 5 weeks, sometimes 16 hour days excluding the drive back from set, as well as a full month of pre production before shooting commenced. But, I am back now to bother you all... I have missed the talks, and clearly have much to catch up on.

Back on topic. This build looks interesting. I should come for a visit... =D
