VWCSA: Skidpan Gymkhana @ Zwartkops Raceway - 27th April

Time for this epic event again! If anyone hasn't done this before I highly recommend it! :driving:

Event: Volkswagen Club of South Africa Skidpan Gymkhana
Date: 27 April 2014
Venue: Zwartkops Raceway Skidpan

Time:10am - 4pm
Cost: R200 members & R300 non-members per driver per car

No helmets or long pants/shirts needed.

Passengers are allowed during the Gymkhana, as long as the indemnity form is signed.

Classes:

Class A: VAG 1.9 and above N/A
Class B: VAG 1.6 to 1.8 N/A
Class C: VAG 1.5 and below N/A
Class FA: Below VAG 2.0T with stock K03/K04 (So Polo GTI’s, Ibiza Cupra , Audi A3) – Depending on how many cars take part here the class may be split
Class FB: VAG 2.0T K03 (Golf 5/6 GTi)
Class FC: VAG 2.0T K04 (Golf R, Leon Cupra, S3, Golf 5/6 GTi K04)
Class FD: VAG Big Turbo and Aftermarket turbo conversion (Golf 1 16vT, Golf 5 GT30)
Class TD: VAG TDi of any engine size
Class M: Members with non-VAG car
class O: Non-members

I had a chat with Ian from the VW Club and he has advised that if we participate he will allow us a special entry fee and a corner for us to park together and put up our banners.

I was there last weekend on the open track/skidpan day and the price was R160, should it not be cheaper through a club?

We will probably make a small loss out of this event.

It isnt all about the money for us. Its about enjoying the day out with mates doing the thing we love.

There will be a gymkhana track set out on the skid pan, basically a tight course that you will have to complete. VWclub does a time attack where you there are 2 cars racing against each other..

Lots of fun.., depending on each driver.., torque might be good or bad.
