Long Awaited Update:

As I have communicated on the forum, I downgraded from an E70 X5 3.0d to a F25 3.0d.

I must say the only thing missing from this X3 package is the AUTO CLOSE tailgate and a TOWBAR, otherwise and I super happy with this purchase. It was excellent value for money given the year model, mileage, condition and FSH with BMW.

I checked classified again and these are rare to find (M-sport with a 3.0 motor). This car is much easier to park, a lot lighter on its feet, I just need to monitor fuel consumption as its now just beneath 10l per 100km whilst the E70 was on 8.6l per 100km

Herewith a few pictures from the dealership.

I nearly made a mistake of selling this baby! I had a couple come view during the past week.

You know when you get that voice that asks “Are you really sure you want to do this?”
Fortunately a brake-pads error light showed up on dash during the test drive, which probably swayed the buyers decision. The way the question was asked, was as if I am hiding something.....well I don’t use this car daily (my wife uses it, I prefer my 2 E46s) and it’s actually normal for car brake pads to finish, it’s a wear and tear item.

Anyways, I only had front brake pads in my workshop; the error message was for rears pads too. I called up ABM and they had space available. As usual, they did the work; at a discounted “fanatics” price for me.

Picked up an oil leak on the 330Ci, which I then had the car go to Gizmo for some
Gizmo special touch!

Turns out it was a sump gasket jobbie!

A lot of work was done on the car a year ago.

1. Cooling system refresh including new expansion tank
2. Oil Filter housing gasket oil leak address
3. Valve cover gasket leak
4. Vanos oil line
5. New thermostat
6. Engine mounts
7. Control arms bushes
8. New tyres, Conti contact sport 5
9. Wheel alignment
10. Touch screen head unit

Only two outstanding items;
1. Gearbox refresh (which will be done at a later stage
2. Sump Gasket oil leak (which was attended to)

For a sweet sixteen, she is still going strong. Mileage approx 208 000km

Thanks bud.

The garage space needs cars like
E46 M3
E92 M3 LCI
E39 M5

Send my way if you have Space constraints, will gladly garage them for you. With a proviso that I do 500km a month on each.

@"VinceM" nice updates, something about that black CI though. Also would like to get an X3 into my garage, next goal.

My coupe itch has been scratched now, I can finally say I understand the selfishness of a coupe.
