Guys
I'm having a silent panic moment about this E34 M5 of mine. I do not know the history of this car beyond the fact it has the original engine/VIN and all the right parts. The car was produced 8/92
I have discovered the makers plate in the car is stamped "535i M5" and not just "M5" Everybody else I have asked who owns one says theirs is just stamped "M5" but the years of production are 91 or before.
Now I am aware that our NATIS system has no "M5" option till 1996 and as a result many of the E34 M5's as such are registered as 535i/540i/M52 and all kinds of other crap.
If anybody has a late 92 or 93 E34 M5, could you please look at the makers plate on your car RHS front inside fender the engine bay near the bonnet gas strut. It's a black and silver plate rivited there.
I have also mailed BMW asking them this question, but I expect to be ignored as usual.
