Vibration Through Steering Wheel When Cornering

Hi Everyone,

My f20 125i seems to have a steering issue. When cornering under relatively high G-force, i get a grinding sensation through my steering wheel. It feels as though two parts are rubbing together. It only happens when turning under high load (e. A fast hairpin) and not necessarily when the steering is in full lock.

Based off of my internet searches the most likely cause is a worn wheel bearing but I am not convinced.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks in advance

have you been under the car to have a look? It sounds like it could be some worn rubber component (Rack ends, ball joints, CV boots etc).

For you to feel something through EPAS i would also agree on a bearing, but you should then also hear it moaning. BMW does actually introduce vibration into the steering shaft to give the sensation of steering feel so you might just be feeling that.
