They cannot and will not force you.

The dealership is trying to force you, as they get commision.

It is optional, you sign a waiver to say thank you but no thank you.

If they proceed to force you, and it is ABSA, please report them to the FSB.

Not doing it through a dealer. Going directly through Absa.
They said due to its age i have to get a mechanical warranty

They are BS you.

Well I took a walk to there offices now and through a huge fit.....

Spoke to the manager and they approved it on the spot without the warranty and without the need to take to a dealer.....

Just shows how much good business they lose due to time wasting processes.....

We have all four of our E46's with Motormend, Innovation Group. My 2004 330i is the newest and it costs me R275 p/month. I'm covered R30k on engine, R20k on gearbox/diff, up to 300,000kms or 15 years. They have paid out every claim on all 4 cars - I can really recomend them. At the price its stupid not to have it. Our 325i Touring has 250k on the clock and that costs R160p/m with R8.5k engine & R6k cover on gearbox.
They don't cover consumables like hoses etc, but amazing what is included eg window motors. Call 0860110007 and ask for Universal Warranty Policy.

I had innovation plan on my e46 and I had hells.....I would really like to know how you got it right...

When my power steering gave up, they gave me a whole bunch of listed dealers. I swear I called all in Johannesburg and they were not prepared to do it through innovation. Not a single company wanted to do it. Even my friends company was listed and he told me he won't through them

After endless emails and phone calls I got hold of one guy there that did help me. He sent me a letter saying I can take it to any of there dealers and I have to pay cash and submit them the invoice so they can pay me back....

Plus you have to hang on for a consultant, and you can never get hold of the last person you spoke to.....

I'm thinking of getting the Bosch plan at the end of mine MP (Nov 2012). Do you recommend it and how much does it cost?

If you have a Motorite warranty or service plan, you seem to get screwed badly.

If you have a full maintenance plan, however, they cover you for damn near everything besides fuel and tyres.
Dealing with the call centre gremlins is a pain though. The moment you ask them for documentation regarding the refuting of a claim, they change their tune and magically approve it.

My dad paid +- 18k to extend the motorite warranty for 2 years on his Honda Accord, and to date they have paid out in excess of 20k (3 Services, damaged driveshaft, brake pads, one full set of brake discs and pads)

I have the Motor Mend with top up on my car,

I just had the Crank Dampener pulley replaced on my 320d for a cost of R5700. I had to pay my mechanic up front but they eventually paid me back about a month later.

My mechanic is affiliated to them so repairs are easily sorted with him.

If my car decides to blow the turbo its nice to know I am covered and I have got R18k cover in total on the motor so if the blades shatter and cause other damage I have some lube for the bill coming my way.

Congrats there

What you driving there & mileage you doing. Go to the Bosch website to check out the different plans I chose to take the the one without the servicing as it was double of what im paying now.
