Varta and Willard Automotive Batteries

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who haven't visited my site yet (www.gshift.co.za), I'll encourage you to do so.  Also please subscribe for updates to the product ranges as well as new products which are launched.

I'll also be starting a separate thread for each product category here on the forum, for ease of reference and if there are any questions or general discussions.

So, to get things started, I am now able to offer a wide range of Varta and Willard Automotive batteries.  These include both the regular batteries as well as AGM batteries for vehicles equipped with start-stop technology.

The Varta batteries carry a 24 month warranty and the Willard batteries carry a 25 month warranty.

Unfortunately the only limitation I have is the sale of batteries is restricted to the greater Gauteng area only, due to not being able to ship dangerous goods. (and the weight would also make shipping expensive).

Batteries can be purchased outright, with or without supplying an old battery as part exchange (pricing will be adjusted accordingly).

Furthermore, we are also able to supply batteries for motorcycles, or other specialist applications.

Lastly, we can supply a number of other battery accessories, such as terminals, adaptors and mounting brackets etc.

My catalogue lists it as a 652:

• Varta: R2023 with a scrap on exchange
• Willard: R1872 with a scrap on exchange

It is the original. I will get the dimensions of it when i get home.

That's a good innings for the battery then. Wow.

Feedback from supplier is that it should be a W668 / W658 / W652

what is the correct model battery for a E90 330d LCI 2010 ?

Some people say it has to be AGM others say does not have to be. Current on is not AGM?

Hi,

Generally speaking, AGMs are only found in the later models which have stop-start technology. As per the various catalogues, they do not specify an AGM battery for this car.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with fitting an AGM. It just has more capacity to be able to handle more load when not being charged by the alternator.

• Varta 80Ah AGM (668): R4080
• Varta 95Ah AGM (658): R4550

24 month warranty on the Varta.

• Willard 668: R3600
• Willard 658: R4150

25 month warranty on the Willard.

Pricing includes return of old battery as exchange.

I can assist with battery registration in the cars too.

I have queried with my courier company, and it is possible to ship batteries across south africa, via road freight only (3-4 days delivery).

So to ship a battery nationally, I estimate that shipping would cost about R200-250 extra including packaging to protect the battery.

So if you're far away and I am able to offer better pricing that what you can get, I'll be happy to package and ship to you.

Grand Prix: R2020 (18month warranty)
Willard: R2660 (25month warranty)
Varta: R2930 (24month warranty)

The above prices include the old battery as exchange. If no exchange, add on R265
