Vanos Problems

Hi Guys: Recently I have experienced a rattling sound coming from my 116i
engine. I removed inlet vanos solenoid and the sound disappeared. However the car doesn't have power.

Any advice as to what could be the problem.

Removed or unplugged? I am sure you could remove the solenoids and clean them, then see what happens. :thumbs:

We did remove cleaned them, and put them back in. However it didn't work.

dreaded rattle of the N46 Motor, there are no quick cures and no real indication of what the actual problem may be , the 2 main culprits are the eccentric shaft sensor and the Valvetronic motor.
