Vanos Problem?

So driving the touring lately has become quite terrible... Misfiring like crazy, oil seems to be leaking like an open faucet, no low-down power AT ALL...

I'm wondering if our dear friends the "VANOS O-RINGS" have not finally gone on strike... :censored: :banghead: :censored:

Really, it's like :floggin:

Please guys, any info on where I can track down one of those improved replacement kits for our M50B25? My dad is wanting to start repairs ASAP, we are, however, just a bit iffy about who we will entrust with this repair, as our "family friend" now refuses to work on vehicles himself, allowing poorly trained workshop "henchmen" to do some nasty work.

We are still battling with their advice: "If you do not want the car to Overheat, DO NOT use the A/C"... I mean, REALLY? :dunno::thinking:

Shouldn't they, like, FIX IT? I thought that's what happens when you take your car to a Mechanical Repairs Workshop, and pay them for parts and labour.

Seems like our workshop has just joined the ANC...:mmm:

Any advice, in ANY regard (Except local elections, I am sticking to my candidate) would, and will, be appreciated.

If you order from Beisan just remember that the stuff only gets to SA about 4 weeks after paying for it. Dont know why it takes so long but thats the only hassle. The tracking reference that they give you for on-line tracking is also hopeless as it never updates.

Ok bru, thanks for the heads-up. Just have to consult with dad, he's thinking of fixing it with the "BMW-approved" replacements, then selling the touring... We just have to wait and see...

Everyone that I've spoken to and have posted on-line says that the OEM BMW seals for the Vanos are not worth it because they dont last very long. The Beisan seals are supposed to be more durable and last longer.
