Hi guys,

I took my E87 118i to mechanic today, he says i need to replace a valve tronic motor, i have some idling problem, where the rpm change slightly up and then down and then back to normal every time i stop, does anybody have experience with this type of problem? sometimes also feels like a very slight power loss

i also need a rear window washer pump

any idea what this would cost? can i buy these second hand or a quality after market product?

would like to get a second opinion any good mechanics to suggest, i'm in cape town.
thanks guys

he is correct, the x18i motors have Valvetronic motors that run thr torque and no Vanos, do a search and you shall find my thread about my valvetronic motor replacement, was a bit pricey so a second opinion is definitely needed, especially because my car had a transmission failure sign go of and said it needs to go to the dealer ASAP, when the motor failed, it had low lower power, and no idle issues.

i am thinking it isnt your VVT motor...
