Hi Guys!

I am new here, I hope for a better stay.

I am living in Durban, I have 2009 320i E90 Automatic on 135,000km. I was told that my car needs a valve stem seal replacement due to the smoke. I was quoted (R25 000), also mentioned the taking off the head. The quote really frustrated me and I am not good in cars, this is my first car.
Where can I get the assistance in Durban

Go and have it done at BMW , SMG in Durban , cost me I think less then R10 000 , I cant remember correctly , but I know at the time I also asked for other work to be done on the car and it came to around that mark or less.

You dont need to take the head off to do this job, BMW has a special tool for doing it without taking the head off.

Tell them , you need to have the valve stem seals replaced. Its not a big job at all for them . They did my car in one day .

My 320i started to smoke on start up and pull away. I took it to S&N auto service in Centurion. Sakie replaced the breather pipe and it was sorted.

I would first get a good mech to diagnose the problem. Speak to Kish2604. He has a good ex BMW technician mechanic located in industrial park.

Hope you get it sorted out soon. I know how annoying it can be.

Do it with BMW as they will warranty their work for 24months on the replacement/repair work... that's a great price as well...

Hwzit guys i replaced my vavle stem seals without removing the cylinder head.

I supplied the special tool to PROCAR in durban. They technicians did a good job changing all 16 seals. Cost me R4000 Labour only as i provided the seals & special tool. No more smoke. Car is 2006 320i N46 Engine.

My tool is worth R10.000 works on all bmws without removing the cylinder head
