I ran my M3-DCT against a stock 335i and by about 200km/h, I was ahead, did this a couple times. I had a couple of runs the other night(near Kyalami) with a 335i and he was gaining on me on both runs. when I tapped off at about 160km/h, he looked like he would have come past easily but couldnt because of traffic. I can only assume it had software.

The gains on the M3 with software only) up here are not fantastic, compared to the x35i, so it is difficult to really compare apples with apples.

I sold my 335i the M3, and initially I did mis the car but after driving the M3 for a couple of months, I realised that they M3 is an all rounder, whereas the 335i just wasn't and I sold my E46 4 pipe for the 335 a few years ago.

yip the m3 is the perfect everyday performance car .
I would say it is perfect if u only need 1 car.
However I think in sheer performance terms there are too many cars that can run it close in a straight line.
Alot of guys would trade the feel of the m car for the performance edge of it's turbo competitors .
I wouldn't personally take a 335 over the m , but then again I just sold my m cause I want to go quicker and have a more focused performance car

Wait until ESS and Gintani have their supercharger kits available for the V10's later this year. I think they will more than live with the factory twin turbo 4.4 V8's, even after additional mods on the V8's and at a much lower total price.
A 5.7 V10 with supercharger will be simply awesome...........
