he BMW 745d is powered by the remarkable new V8 diesel power unit. The V8 reaches its maximum torque output of 750 Nm at just 1,900 rpm; maximum power (242 kW / 330 hp) at 3,800 rpm. With its aluminium crankcase, the turbo powerplant is thirty kilograms lighter than its predecessor. Innovative piezo fuel injection technology delivers improved responsiveness plus reduced consumption, and a particle filter is fitted as standard.
:inlove: now thats what Im talking about...still a tad weaker than the VW V8...but it would be good in my Zed

If you look at the URL you can see that they've been around sice 2005, though it would appear we never got them here...

I am well confused now, checked the BMW germany site and on there not a single 8cylinder diesel is mentioned? Only turboed sixes? Is my url in the op outdated? Because I always thought they stopped making the V8 diesel when they stopped making the E38.

Side note imagine a V8 Diesel E46 with a Six Speed manual :fencelook:

Ok sorry guys it seems I was completely incorrect p, BMW used them from E38 up until the E65 facelift so began 1999 until 2009.
First variants of the M67 produced 175kW
The final version produced a whopping 242kW!!!

That website seems outdated, its got the 730d measured at 170kw and 520nm, the 330d from 2009 onwards had 180kw? :fencelook:

The six cylinder petrol is still the naturally aspirated 3 litre motor
(190kw and 300nm)
