Hi Fanatics

Just checking if anyone had issues with the V-Belt and pulley on an E9X. Wife got stuck at shopping centre with no power steering and battery light on. Call out mechanic said the pulley was loose, wasnt safe to drive,
so was towed into dealership.............. First time I've had a problem like this............

Any idea on replacement cost to fix, still waiting for BMW dealer to advise, and they had the car the whole day.......................:argh:

Any feedback will be welcomed.........

Thanks

Hi there Ash,

I got my car (e90 320d)back today from Northcliff auto where it went in for a service, I complained about noisey pulleys and they replaced my v belt and pulley under MP. Their total cost for labour and parts was R1319.93.

' removing and installing replacing pully on power steering pump -R265.60'
' ribbed v-belt. - R 597.90'
' pulley - R 456,30'

Hope you come right soon!

Mine is also noisy when cold, but mine is the tensioner pulley. New tensioner is R650 and easy to replace.

I also had that noise in December, took it in January, and it was replaced as well, main V belt + pulley. Same cost

It is the tensioner + bolt + V-Belt, and not the pulley, but they quoting something like R5K, does this sound excessive?

Ash iirc you in CPT right?

If you are then I can give you the mach I used to use details...I'm sure he'll get the parts for you and will do the install.

Let me know.
