Hi guys, hope we all good.

So guys im considering getting myself a used F30d in the following months, my options were f20, e92, or f30 but after doing my research i realised the f30 is the best used car compromise amongst my options based on price, performance and especially the reliability of the f30d engine as ive come to conclude via some research online...

PLEASE can i get further advice from an owner on out of warranty servicing prices, best shops to get servicing, warranties, all the details on whether it would be a wise move and if i can protect my pockets from BIG expenses that come with that mileage.

Note, im a decent driver, however sometimes my foot may weigh a ton on the gas so consider that as well.

Thanks in advance!

if around 140,000km get the gearbox serviced at ZF, vibration damper should also be inspected.
other than that no other major issues.
BMW run an OIL Service special annually for around R1100.
Filters and brake fluid needs to be done every 2 years.
Brake pads and sensors are around R1500 and labour is around R400.
Runflats are pricey.

overall an excellent car

I currently have a 2015 F30 320D. The car is quick and nimble. Light on petrol. Idle sound is very truck like. The torque is amazing in these cars.

I have around 89000kms on the clock and have had no issues with it. Other than taking it through for services when the car says too.

I regret not getting an Msport car. I have a standard 320D with 17’ wheels. The 16’s look really bad.

Pros of not getting an Msport is my tyres are cheap. I’ve upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport 4’s and the car ride has become really amazing. A full set of these + alignment and fitment cost me about R6500. I think 18’ wheels are really expensive. Also car is a little higher without the msport kit. (I had runflats quoted for my wheel size and they were like R100 more per tyre.)

Cons are: I don’t have the sexy msport rims, bumper, sideskirts and front bumper. Also the Msport steering wheel is amazing.

Im seeing a few without the m sport package at a better price and honestly look much cleaner however, i MUST get the package as i can imagine i wont be satisfied and doing an upgrade i must imagine might cost me enought to have gotten the right car either way... The only upgrades i want to do is aftermarket oem spec audio which Rockford offer but i think way too costly so im considering outside guys like bavsound... and some other minor suff, digital cluster, nbt evo pro... Want to keep it as close to original as possible!

Following the OBC service intervals isn't advisable out of MP...20ds are better off when serviced every 10k kms/12 months with the recommended LL-04 oil spec:thumbs:

M Sport models normally go for a bit more that normal ones, The ride is still not bad with the bigger rims.
