Good Day

Please advise me of where to find the usb input is for my 2009 E90 325i Exclusive?

Or how I may add a third party product for usb functionality.

Thank you

Good morning Peeps

Sorry to Hi-jack this tread, I have a 09 e92 with iDrive, in the center console I only have a aux jack and in the glove box no USB, I currently copy my music to CD and save it to the hard drive, was USB an additional option with iDrive?

Will this ebay unit plug straight into the back of the head until with no additional coding or configuration required.

Regards Rom

Yup guys I have the same problem with my X5 and now my X3 it has AUX and no USB connector so you can play your iPod through the AUX but will not see functionality such as playlists, songs & artists on the iDrive screen also no control of changing the songs, artists via the I Drive {why BMW excluded this in a lot of models baffles the brain}

So you will have to now buy a retrofit kit that you couple to the back of your your CD head unit and supposedly it will then give you the functions I have listed here above through your iDrive, of course this will most likely cost you and arm & a leg at BMW or "other".............................. you can manually use your iPod and change the artists etc via the pod through the AUX facility currently and it will play but what a hassle :blueCry:

AFAIK the headunit would still need to be coded,so it isn't just a direct plug and play.Otherwise I wouldn't mind getting this usb for my e90.:skit:

Evening. Look under the center armrest, should be next to the minijack input, or in your glovebox towards the right side if you have iDrive. If you have none (hard to believe as your car is an Exclusive) then you need one of these:

Hi there
I have this under my arm rest, but it looks like a need a cable to connect to it. where do I find this cable?
I am in cape town.

Thx :ty:

If you have the USB connector alongside the AUX then you are good to go and you can connect iPod if this is what you are referring to via a cable 40pin in iPod and a USB connector on the other side, plug it in the USB in your console and then you can pull it up on the iDrive and see artists, playlists songs etc .......

You are lucky man I just have the AUX facility and I cannot see anywhere where a dammed retrofit unit is available for my 2011 X3 F25 even BMW don't have :blueCry:

Plugged my USB into the connection directly and music to my hears no cables required - :clapper:
