US Visa - Info

Hey Guys,

I am hoping a fanatic can assist me here. Wife and I are planning to go to Miami in June and also do the carribean cruise.

With regard to the visa, should I apply for the visa first and then go ahead and do the bookings ?

I do know that they require the travel info so I am confused here, not sure if I must book my flights, hotels etc and then do the visa, then I can give them my travel info.

I am assuming that I can apply as soon as possible for my visa and do not have to wait 2 months before etc

Any help/info will be appreciated...

Thanks

LOL, I just came from my US visa interview. No need for tickets, also witnessed one guy's application get declined. Rather be safe and get the visa, then tickets.

Agreed - US don't need any bookings (flights or accom). Before the interview, you are basically already pre-approved/declined. Just prove that you have enough in SA to come back to (ie. Property/Family) and you'll be fine.

Good luck

I had all the tickets and booking in my file, Friend even put 100K in my account.
they didnt look at any of it.

Just asked where i was staying and who im going with and for how long.

The interview with homeland security at ATL was more stressful though.

The guy already had my info when i walked up to him, he asked the same question in different forms a few times to try and catch me out.

Ok,

So I am assuming that I don't need bank statements and letter from employer ?

Do I need to show them my property documents ?

I took all I could when i went for my interview recently. You want to show them that you will return to South Africa.

The letter from your employer shows that you have a job, same for your SO. Bank statements show means to travel.

Hey Guys,

So I got my interview on Thursday. I just want to find out, do I need to take 3 months bank statements or just my latest statement showing that there is enough cash in my account etc

I see with FNB, I can get a visa application letter. It simply states my account details and that my account exists, it shows the country I plan to visit and departure and arrive dates etc

It also states that the following "The account holder has furthermore informed FNB that the above mentioned travel will be funded via the above account"

Should I just take this fnb application letter only or include the latest statement and not my 3 month banks statements.

Any advice ?

Thanks

If anything make sure you have:
Details stating you will come back - finance on car or a bond statement

We had to show nothing however and basically just stated we going for a week and will return on said date.

I guess for everyone it is different.

I have a letter from work indicating that I am travelling to the US and will return to work after my holiday. I did print out my bond statement as well.

I went to the interview when the plane tickets & accommodation were booked & I got the visa, I must say I was worried because I also saw a guy get declined in front of everyone. I Hate How Open It is...All the best.

Visa Approved :smilebounce:

They asked me 3 questions; What is my occupation and where do I work, What is my purpose to visit USA

Got told visa is approved... They did not even look at my bond statements, my trip itinerary, my letter from work and bank statements.

Was very easy!
