Hi Guys,

I have a 320i individual e 46 my car is loosing power took it for a test to bmw todat I have to replace all 6 spark plugs and ignition coils I also need to replace the air flow metre bmw has gven me a quotation of 12500 is they anywere I can gt this done cheaper like mayb get the parts cheaper and have bmw fit it in plese help

the coils are quite pricy if i rem right... are you sure all have to be replaced? they normaly dont all go at the same time

:dunno: check out the guys on eBay there are places that sell direct and not auction stuff, take a little while to get here but better than the prices here.

Baught a set os of 4 coils the other day... cost me 350 a piece if I recall.

The MAF can be gotten a lot cheaper from bosch itself, but if you ask me, this is lazy diagnostics....

Highly unlikely all 6 coils need to be replaced. I'd suggest taking the car to a reputable independent specialist to do a proper diagnosis.

thats what i was thinking... way to many parts... typical bmw thou lets just replace every thing it could be sure its great when you on MP but it does not make sense when you are paying for it... and now the techys dont even know how to work any other way...

All six coils and plugs and a MAF all at once - with those odds you must either be the unluckiest person on earth or you car was struck by lightening.

Rather try to find a mechanic who actually interprets a diagnosis rather than just reads a computer screen, BMW must be having you on somwhere.
