Update: Post decat problems solved

For those who were following my other two "post decat" threads, I've made some interesting progress ....

My mate was kind enough to leave his OBD cable with me for a little while. Anyway, I've reread the codes again this week after initially clearing them last month (Old thread link) they came up with Lamda errors again (202 and 203, as per the previous time).

So I decided to swap the 2 front sensor plugs around and see what happens and drove the car again for about 200KM's. Read the codes and all clear - however, the following was very, very interesting. My issue with the drone at 120/130 (Old thread link) was sorted  No more droning sound  .
Performance felt about the same as before (i.e. same improvement after the decat), however, my fuel consumption seems to have dropped by around 10-20%. Did not measure exactly, but judging by the same route to work and back it has improved quite a bit. For the record, after the initial decat, I did feel a performance improvement, but did not see any benefit ito fuel consumption (until now).

So it was a rather interesting discovery that both these problems were linked  Just glad it is now sorted.

you might have had damaged cats hence the heavier fuel consumption before and the drone, they break up inside and clog the system.

interesting.. can only think that the ecu will be very confused if the o2's are swapped around, since adding or subtracting fuel on the one bank will affect the reading from the sensor on the other bank.. so it will try to correct on the other bank , only to affect this bank, and so on.. this oscillating correction might be what was causing the droning, obviously it was causing your abnormal consumption.

who did the decat and plugging in of the sensors originally?

awesome glad it got sorted :) i also saw a good drop in fuel consumption when i did my exhaust... im averaging 9.3 now which i think is very good considering i drive the car hard :)

Drone was only experienced after the decat.
