Unichip

Hi,

Anybody know anything about this chip, I saw one of the members fitted it onto his mini but no real detail wrt gains etc

Got a quote from dastek for 3500 with switchable maps and a dyno.

Are they any good on the Mini, I have been trying to do research on the net but not much available.

its not the chip its the tuner... find someone who has proven gains on the mini...

Yep tuner has a lot to do with it. My V6 Tiburon was up 10kw and 5nm over stock 130kw 250nm with an exhaust but a further 15kw and 10nm with the unichip which for NA car are pretty decent gains

Any reason why you want a chip as opposed to a ecu flash? Motorplan still active?

I had a Unichip on my MG and I must say it did wonders. But yet is is all about the tuner. But at the end of the day no matter what they say a Unichip is still a piggyback. You will get better gains from a remap. :thumbs:

The Unichip is a great product, just don't use Dastek to fit it.

My friend removed his Unichip recently from his G5 GTi, and the work was pathetic, they basically hacked the ECU mount to pieces to get the Unichip in. :thumbdo:
