I'm on the fence about why people have so much hate for a unichip (or any piggyback for that matter). Yes they aren't as efficient as a remap... but not everyone wants the motor pushed to "safe limits". I went through 2 turbos because of a remap, so I have a personal grudge against software.
However, in my experience a unichip does make a difference (back in the day I had an MG ZR 2l TD that was sluggish as hell, A friend gave me his unichip and it made a remarkable difference, 74kw on the dyno to 108kw if I remember correctly.). Afterwards I took it out and we got a harness for a 1.9Tdi engine and fitted it to my friends VW Touran. Was a fun mommy wagon to drive haha.
As most of the guys say a map is better and you will get better results, but seeing as you already have the chip and not looking for huge gains then it should be just fine. It should still be fun results and with it being on an loop harness you can take it off anytime.
