Undecided on mods

Hi Guys

Name is Mario, from JHB and new to this site.
I recently purchased a z4 M Roadster, 2008, black with black interior and stock standard. I have been in 2 minds about doing a new exhaust system ( I like the sound of the RPI exhausts ) and perhaps a new set of wheels with a dish. However I do know that these cars are scarce and adding mods may not be such a great idea.

Some advice would be appreciated

You are going to get lambasted for not posting pics :)

In my opinion the s54 rarely sounds better with a different exhaust, and agree with the sentiment that the car is more valuable in stock form.

Having said that, a member here had a Remus back box on a z4m and liked it.

Whatever you do, make sure it's possible to return to stock.

haha im still figuring this site out, im still yet to figure how to upload pics but will do so soon :hammerhead:

I specifically like the sound of the RPI exhaust because it sounds quite a lot deeper than the standard 'tin' sound.

When i click on 'Add picture to post', I choose my image and upload but then it tells me 'image file not found' ?? :skit:

One mod I would suggest is the Eventuri Intake. Normally it is very hard to get additional power out of a naturally aspirated M engine with an intake, but this intake has proven to deliver a bit more power and torque, as well has having a noticeable increase induction noise. It's plug and play and entirely reversible mod.

There is actually a member here who has installed it on his Z4 M

Before you go spending on mods, I would also consider some maintenance items depending on mileage:

Above 100 000km
Replace Connecting Rod Bearigs
VANOS - anti rattle kit, seals, etc
Valve clearance adjustment.

If you do it on a pc then do the following:
* Press windows logo, left bottom / start menu.
* Type in the following ...... snipping Tool ..... without the dots.
* Open your image and press new in snipping tool menu.
* Highlight the image and press save as jpeg.
* post the image here

Hope this helps

That definitely makes sense
The mileage is 100 400km at the moment.

When I go over bumps or drive on the cobble paving in my complex there is a slight rattle sound from the front, there are some clips missing which hold down the plastics under the bonnet so Iv tried to be optimistic and assume that thats where the rattling is coming from. Any idea what else it could be?

True
Im not a fan of the 'tin' sound unfortunately
Only really bought it because of its power and scarcity
