The norm is to go 255/35/18 in the rear. A lot of people had rubbing with a 265 in the back and the rims are to narrow for a 265 in any case. 265 requires a minimum of a 9J rim so that the width can be affective.
I want to use it for the drags,a friend has a set of mickeys semi slicks in 265-40-18 which his going to sell it to me at a good a price but not sure if it will work, what do youl think?
I borrowed mine 275/40/17 to someone with a 135 and they came back with gashes about a centimeter in. They might have drove home four up with them. Cant tell how the 265's will work. How cheap is cheap? I got mine for R1850 from ATS so they are surprisingly cheap.
If its traction of the line you need and the car will not be permanently on the tires I would go for the Mickey Thompson in 245/40. The sidewall on these tires is very soft and the car doesn't handle the best in corners and at high speeds. They should give you about 2500km of street use. The 265's are a bit wide in my opinion and will not give a noticeable benefit to traction due to your narrow rim and they will also be more wobbly on higher speeds.
The Toyo R are track specific tires designed to corner well with very hard side walls. You will have increased traction of the line but marginal as they have been designed for cornering. They decent tires to use everyday though.
