Hi Guys,

My two front tyres were getting a bit worn so I rotated them Hoping they would last me till end of July but now one of the newer tyres got a puncture and I need to replace all four ASAP.

Firstly can I plug the rft?
Im probably looking at changing to non rft after petermofat post.
I want to know what profile must I get Nd besides the bridgestones any other brand that anyone would like to recommend?

Thanks

you can plug a rft jus depends if its too close to the side walls. Then its a no - go.......

Is your car still on MP............if not then you can switch to other brands - Hankook, Goodyear, Conti etc

Remember if your car is insured then you cannot use non rft in a car that came with rft's as oem. They will not entertain your claim.

I did plug it yesterday, it was just a nail on the flat.

Are you sure about the insurance when changing from rft to non rft?

I have read lots of forums but nobody mentioned this, I was told as long as the brand and the profile is the same there shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone else has any info on insurance requirements when Changing tyres?

My mate owns a dealer accredited panel shop the first thing when the car arrives there for repairs. They are instructed not to touch it till the assessor comes through. The first thing the assesor looks at is the tires if they are within spec an if the correct tires are used. Had one instance where they owner had used non rft's in a car that should have them on. The guy's insurance denied the claim an he had to fit the bill.

Why does changing tyres have to end up so complex :argh:

I have company insurance now and they are not strict at all, my previous car was written off while i was waiting for my rims and tyres to be delivered the following day and they paid me out in full even though tyres were worn completely

I will double check though, i cant handle these rfts are driving me insane...

My mk1 had a better ride...:biglol:
